“A comforting country sound resonates throughout…as Darcy’s honest lyrics are indicative of the classic country song.”– IRISH MUSIC MAGAZINE
Growing up in the home of traditional Irish music in the beautiful County Clare, singer/songwriter Michael Darcy was steeped in the purity of this musical culture from a very young age. After years of touring across Ireland, Michael now resides in Toronto, Canada, midst the city’s exciting roots music scene. Over the years he has shared the stage with top Irish acts like Hermitage Green, Delorentos, Mundy & The Mahones. Touring across Canada has resulted in performances out east as far as Newfoundland & west all the way to British Columbia, aswell as playing shows in places like New York, Las Vegas and even Haiti! He has also performed live on Canadian television during a special St. Patrick’s Day show for the popular CP24 channel.
Working with producer/engineer Aaron Comeau (Skydiggers), Michael released his long-awaited debut album ‘Simple Drop of Rain’ in 2018, which garnered positive reviews & radio play on both sides of the Atlantic…(“there’s a fine blend of folk, modern roots and trad throughout.” – BOB MERSEREAU, CBC). He has been busy working on material for album no. 2 with his exciting and dynamic new group, ‘Michael Darcy & the Atlantic Tramps’, creating an acoustic whirlwind of both Celtic & Americana roots music. He just released a new 3-track EP “Atlantic Tramps Live” which will serve as a taster of what to expect from the upcoming sophomore record due out in early 2021! (For full bio, click here)

“Recorded in Toronto by Aaron Comeau, who also guests on the album, Darcy has amassed a band of musicians from the Toronto music scene, of which he has become a familiar figure. A comforting country sound resonates throughout, with organ, dobro, pedal steel, banjo and mandolin backed up by drums, as Darcy’s honest lyrics are indicative of the classic country song….”DEREK COPLEY, IRISH MUSIC MAGAZINE
“He’s caught the drifting bug, knowing there’s a song around every corner…There are nods to Darcy’s homeland, folk past and troubadour present. Remember that time you stumbled into a club by accident and there was a singer on stage who immediately wowed you? Darcy’s that kind of singer.”BOB MERSEREAU, CBC
